"Self-supporting", a familiar concept to Chinese people, has been an important part of personality cultivation since ancient china. However, it is not until recently that self-supporting is studied from serious psychology perspective. The present research arrives at a sound self-supporting model of high school students, through open questionnaires, interview and investigation with 134 people, exploring factor analysis of 316 predicative questionnaires, confirmatory factor analysis of 770 questionnaires in due form, and repeated examination and revision of the theoretical self-supporting structure model of high school students. It also tests the reliability and validity of < Self-supporting questionnaire of high school students > against different indexes from different angles.(1) Self-supporting of high school students could be seen in four dimensions, i.e. behavioral self-supporting, mental self-supporting, social self-supporting, and economic self-supporting tendency. Among them, behavioral self-supporting could be divided into four elements, i.e. self-supporting daily life, sanitary habits, living habits, and crisis handling; mental self-supporting includes seven first factors and two second factors: cognitive self-supporting (including independent thinking, independent learning, independent reflection and perfection, independent decision and control, and self-confidence) and emotional self-reliance (including emotional stability, emotional self-bearing and regulation); Social self-supporting include interpersonal communication, interpersonal relationship, sense of responsibility and ideal; Economic self-supporting tendency includes obtaining money, using money, preparing for career and predicting development.(2) Test-retest reliability, split-half reliability, internal concordance coefficient (Cronbach a coefficient), content validity and index validity of the < Self-supporting questionnaire of high school students > which is based on the theoretical idea of high school students' self-supporting structure were good. This questionnaire could be used as a proper measure to evaluate high school students' self-supporting condition.(3) There was statistically significant difference in social self-supporting, psychological self-supporting, self-efficacy and coping style caused by sex; students from the rural parts of the country have obviously different levels of behavioral self-supporting, economic self-supporting tendency, as well as self-efficacy from the urban students; Students of arts have distinctly different sense of economic self-supporting and have different coping style from students of science; self-supporting, self-efficacy and coping style showed significant difference between student leaders and ordinary students; psychological self-supporting, economic self-supporting tendency, as well as self-efficacy showed significant difference according to grade.(4) High school students of different self-supporting level have obviously different self-efficacy, with the more self-supporting ones bearing higher self-efficacy than the less independent ones. People of different self-supporting levels use different coping styles, with the better self-supporting ones using more positive coping style and less independent ones negative coping style. Self-supporting can in some way predict self-efficacy and coping style, with psychological self-supporting bearing the best prediction power.
