The research on pictorial bronzes of Eastern Zhou is a major subject of study on art history and archeology. The pictorial bronzes founded with images embodying a great variety of themes can not only provide lots of visual material about politics, culture and life style in Eastern Zhou, but also lay a important foundation on the understanding of the development of painting in early China. It is self-evident that the value of pictorial bronzes play a important role in art history.The article discusses the features of early Chinese painting based on the analysis of the important elements concerning workmanship, style and subjects of images. During the research materials concerning painting in the early stage of China, it is discovered that innovation in the early period of Chinese art is embodied on the utensils for daily life. A new form of art changed the outlooks of these utensils. With the increasing process of development, it is possbile for the new form of art to shift the utility to the sheer art objects for appreication. Early Chinese Painting cames into being and developed in the process.
