Explore Ethical Issues In China's Modern Economic Life

The economic life has been obviously playing a foundational, dominant role in Chinese modern society. The economy development is the barycenter of all sorts of work in our country. Maintaining the vigor of the economy development and accelerating the sustainable development of the economic life, is very important. But the routine procedure of the economic life involves inevitably in all kinds of transactions, in a word involves in interpersonal relationship, which necessarily involves in morality. The market economy is one inevitable choice of Chinese modern economic life. The key that the market economy can maintain the vigor is its motivation and restriction mechanism. Motivation and restriction are of great importance to Chinese modern economic life, and morality exactly is one important factor which can effectively motivate and restrict modern economy. Therefore, researching into the moral question in the modern economic life plays an important role in reality. Based on the importance of the motivation and restriction to modern economic life, this article inspects the moral question in Chinese modern economic life mainly in the way of motivation and restriction. In order to complete certain theory upholstery for the article to inquire the moral question of the economic life, this article specially makes some relative explanation in the origin, essence and the attribute of morality, and brief introduction in some research about the morality's possibility and impossibility in academic circles in the first chapter, then starts to research the moral question in the economic life. First it has revealed where the importance of morality to the modern economic life is, pointed out morality is the supporting center of the modem economic life sustainable moving and morality plays a significant part in motivating and restricting modern economic life. Then it has analyzed the morality's possibility of Chinese modern economic life, pointed out that consistency exists between morality and economy. Moral motivation and restriction can reduce the transaction cost, "the invisible hand" can't completely satisfy economic life' s motivation and restriction requirements, "the visible hand" can't solve all the problem of economic life's motivation and restriction, which provides some possibility of developing the motivation and restriction effect of morality to economy life. However, morality is something, not everything. There is some impossibility in the realistic economic life. So after having analyzed the morality's possibility, it has analyzed the morality's impossibility in Chinese modern economic life, and revealed the reasons causing morality's impossibility: morality's function characteristic, businessman's selfish rationality has restricted morality's realization, moral economic activities cannot be motivated effectively, immoral economic activities cannot be restricted effectively, morality adapting to modern market economy has not been rebuilt completely, which enable morality not to play the role fully. Finally aiming at morality's possibility and impossibility, some relative acts were proposed, which revealed how to fully realize the morality's motivation and restriction to the modern economic life, in order that morality can involve in economy very well, preserve the vitality of the economic development forever.
