Chinese Non-true Value Of The Numeral "one" And Related Format

There are few disagreement about numeral as a kind of speech. From the history of Chinese research, just a few people have studied numeral. Maybe the place of numeral in Chinese grammar has a lot to discuss. There are a lot of questions between numeral and other part of speech. We try to know the non-true-value semantics of numeral"yi", its grammatical function as well. Besides preface and conclusion, the whole paper includes five parts.In the first part, we divide numeral into true-value numeral and non-true-value numeral according to semantic and syntax relations. Furthermore, we divide non-true-value numeral"yi"into four part: full quantity semantic; extensive quantity semantic; subjective semantic and mark for verb complement.In the second part ,we first describe the distribution of"yi+borrowed classified word", then we examine the symmetrical relation between"yi"and"quan,man"based on the synchronic level.thirdly,"yi"which has extensive quantity semantic chooses and restricts"the borrowed classified word. And based on the diachronic, we examine"yi"'s process of how to have extensive quantity semantic; finally, in the view of cognition,we fully analyze the"yi"with full quantity semantic on the diachronic and synchronic level.In the third part, we discuss non-true-value numeral"yi"with subjective semantic. It is often found in"yi V"structure (including"Vyi V"structure). The grammatical factor for"yi"with subjective semantic is when the structure in the"V"form. The semantic of"yi V"says: after a short action, it comes some result or conclusion (Wang li 1985). In the four part, several constructions of extensive quantity semantic are analyzed with fixed amount and fixed feature method. We think that"yiliangliang"with extensive quantity comes from true-value semantic. By the comparison between"yiliangliang"construction with true-value quantity and extensive quantity form, and by seeing the process of semantic's show, we think that"yi"construction expands into"yiliang"construction. And extensive quantity is the cognitive metaphor expands from true-value quantity.In the fifth part, we carefully study the condition that"V+yige/ge+adjective"construction is a verb complement phrase in which"yige/ge"is a grammatical mark for verb complement. The grammar factor is that verb belongs to independent and monosyllabic verb, while the adjective is positive. The adjectives sometimes are modified by"de"and other words, which don't put any influence on its syntactic and semantic function. The syllables can't restrict the adjectives.
