Modern Chinese Entertainment Vocabulary Study

This dissertation does a systematic research on the modern Chinese entertainment lexis. The dissertation consists of five chapters, foreword and appendix as well. The foreword is a brief introduction to the definition of the modern Chinese entertainment lexis, the collection standards and sources of the corpus. The appendix is corpus.The first chapter makes an overall review of the studies done in the field concerned and problems existing. The dissertation points out that the current studies also remain in the starting point.The second chapter introduces the profile of the modern Chinese entertainment lexis. Conclusions are made that there are three reasons for its development: meeting the needs of the rapid development of the entertainment industry, the linguistic concept and the entertainment identification of the media. The dissertation also makes a conclusion that the modern Chinese entertainment lexis has the nature of characteristic words of the social dialects.The third chapter is description. The dissertation studies the modern Chinese entertainment lexis systematically, from syllable, structure, semantic and characteristics of its use. Based on the studies, some conclusions have been made.Under the guidance of critical discourse analysis theory, the fourth chapter analyses constructional function of the modern Chinese entertainment lexis. Conclusions are made that the modern Chinese entertainment lexis is affected by society, culture and psychology. At the same time, it also has constructional function to them.The fifth chapter are the evaluation and forecast. The dissertation gives linguistic evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the modern Chinese entertainment lexis. Based on this, the dissertation also forecasts the trends of its development and studies.
