This paper focuses on the selection of the three-syllable nouns in the seventh edition of "Modern Chinese Dictionary".By investigating the basic generalization of the three-syllable nouns in the dictionary,this paper attempts to analyze the types and methods of word formation,semantic features and the three reasons for the formation of the three-syllable nouns,in order to describe and analyze the three-syllable nouns from the perspective of synchronic and diachronic,static and dynamic,and grasp the development of modern Chinese vocabulary by cognizing the characteristics of the three-syllable nouns.This paper firstly examines the three-syllable nouns from a macroscopic point of view,counts the data of the three-syllable nouns in the seventh edition of "Modern Chinese Dictionary",and explores the characteristics of the rhythm structure,grammatical function and semantic distribution,so as to learn the three-syllable nouns source.Secondly,from the dynamic and static aspects,the word formation and word-making methods of the three-syllable nouns are studied,and the types and methods of the three-syllable nouns are systematically summarized.Then,starting from the structural characteristics of the three-syllable nouns,further explores its semantic features.Finally,according to the semantic distribution and source of the three-syllable nouns,the external factors and internal factors of the formation of the three-syllable nouns are analyzed.
