New Curriculum Context Of Geographical Science (teacher) Students Of Human Geography Literacy

The human geography literacy is not only a disciplinary accomplishment that has to be acquired by geography science majors, but also the absolutely necessarily specialized accomplishment that the geography science(teacher-training) majors maintain the education teaching profession in the professional profession in the future. At present, the new national curriculum reform of elementary education is in progress on a large scale. The geography new curriculum not only emphasizes the function of human geography in cultivating integrated skills for young people in the new century, but also increases contents about human geography. However, higher normal education curriculum and educational reform lag behind to elementary education curriculum and educational reform nowadays. The normal education appears to be "marginalized". The geography education majors' human geography accomplishment reveals many deficiencies in various aspects; for example, their knowledge is obsolete and their theoretical basis is not solid, which has caused many problems in teaching practice. In addition, currently, international human geography has made new progress, that is, there have been breakthroughs in research area and research method. The existing ways of human geography education can not meet the needs of geography education majors. The human geography education reforms for higher normal geography science (teacher-training) majors are in urgent needs. It is necessary to strengthen students' human accomplishment so as to carve out a way for feasible reforms. This article has analyzed the characteristics of geography new curriculum, especially the status and function of human geography in elementary geography education; as for the general deficiency of geography education majors, by absorbing advanced foreign experience, this article has proposed strategies in how to enhance human geography accomplishment of geography education majors, which includes restructuring human geography curriculum system, renewing teaching material, improving teaching method, promoting practice, consummating the examine method and so on.
