On the base of the achievements of some western anthropologists, the paper tries to study Coetzee's texts from an eco-critical perspective by three chapters.Chapter I is to explore the origin of the form of Coetzee's ecological ideas and comb the process of his ecological ideas: reveal that post-colonialism is the times that Coetzee lives in and that his special identity as a diaspora writer is the inner power of the form of his ecological ideas, and then summarize three steps of the development of Coetzee's ecological ideas.Chapter II is to discuss how Coetzee expressed his ecological ideas in his novels. In this part, we reveal that Coetzee emphasized the importance of eco-balance by describing the "Cronus".The last chapter is to discuss the connotation of Coetzee's ecological ideas comprehensively by two aspects (four parts). On the one hand, Coetzee breaks the traditional idea of anthropocentricism. It's shown as two parts: the first partis to criticize the philosophical foundation of anthropocentricism -the falsereason; the second part is to criticize the source of the desire ofanthropocentricism-the disease of soul. One the other hand, Coetzeeestablished his holistic ecological ideas. It's also shown as two parts: part I is totrain the moral consciousness - sympathetic imagination; part II is to guidethe substance of the holistic ecological ideas - return to the nature.
