Hancheng Dialects Overlap

Hancheng,a city with an area of about 1,621 square kilometers located in the north-east of Shaanxi Province and on the western bank of Huanghe River,across Huanghe River to the east of which are Xiangning,Hejin and Wanrong in Shanxi Province,is bordered by Huanglong and Yichuan in Yan'an to the northwest and Heyang in Weinan.to the south.Special geographic location brings the research of Hanchen dialect with unique significance.However,so far the published result concerning this subject is only the dialect part of Hancheng City History,compiled by corresponding committee.Other researches investigate Hancheng dialect fragmentarily,rather than viewing it comprehensively.Through field investigation and analysis of the corpus of Hancheng dialect,we make a detailed description and analysis of the reduplication in Hancheng dialect,inducing the features of it.This plays a great role in inspecting the grammar features of GuanZhong dialect and richening the grammar research of dialect in the north-west."Reduplication" in this article includes "morphological reduplication" and "lexical reduplication" This article consists of four sections:Introduction,Adjective Reduplication in Hancheng Dialect,Reduplicated Words in Hancheng Dialect,Features of Reduplication in Hancheng Dialect.The adjective reduplication is sorted into lexical reduplication.Reviewing the research done on the adjective reduplication,we describe the patterns of adjective reduplication,the tone transformation the grammartical meaning and the grammar function in this article.What is more,we also analyse the close relationship between the adjective reduplication and quantity area,emotional implication.The noun reduplication is classified as morphological reduplication.Distinguishing the single words,the compound words,reduplicated phrases and reduplicated nouns,we describe the grammatical function and semantic implication in this article.We discover that the reduplicated nouns and measure words have the same writing form with noun and measure word' reduplicated form;however,they are different in the tone transformation.Through the comparison of between Hancheng dialect reduplication and Mandarin,we can see the features of Hancheng dialect reduplication:the XX-form of adjective is not restricted by the meaning of the words;different forms of adjective reduplication have different levels in quan tity; the XX-form of adjective reduplication does not suggest the emotional favorite,the forms of reduplicated nouns are quite diverse;most pronunciation of the reduplication is BaiDu.Based on a lot of investigations,with the convenience of the writing considered,we editor an appendix with the investigated words to illustrate the features of the reduplication of Hancheng dialect.
