Metaphor is not only a means of rhetory, but also an idealistic instrument and cognitive way for the human kind to research the world. The essence of metaphor is to understand and experience one kind of thing in terms of another. This article precisely analysis Chinese metaphor glossary type and the cognition characteristic from the cognition angle. The metaphor is universal. We all lives on the same earth although we hall various nationalities culture, Therefore different cultural context person maybe have some same cultural accumulation, thus has the mutual recognition culture. The mutual recognition culture then congeals in the language for the common cultural semantics and the similar metaphor. However, because each language all has its quite glorious history, they load massive related national unique contents such as thinking mode, custom, traditional culture and historical literature ancient book and so on. Therefore, each nationality always has one's unique cognition method, they project their understanding to the reality to their own language which causes the metaphor concept system of each nation to present unique characteristic and the difference. This article compares general characteristic and the individual difference between Chinese and English metaphorical words. The full text altogether includes four chapters.Chapter one: Mainly introduce the selected topic reason, the research background, the object, the method and the significance.Chapter two: Mainly elaborate vital role of metaphor in the word meaning production. Metaphor is an important way in word meaning production. Sometimes we can only through the metaphor to construct word meaning to name things or conditions in the chaos world. Metaphor plays a vital role when we study the concept or form the new concept recent. We divide Chinese metaphor into metaphorical words and free form, and mainly analyze the cognition characteristic of metaphor metaphorical words.Chapter three: Compares general characteristic and the individual difference between Chinese and English metaphorical words and then analyze the reason.Chapter four: Chinese metaphorical words teaching enlightenment in TCFL. This chapter proposes the Chinese teacher should pay attention to four aspects. One is the teacher must realize the importance of metaphor theory; Two, we can try the metaphor type glossary teaching method; Three, we can explain metaphorical meaning from cognition angle; Four, we must raise student's Trans-Culture consciousness. Finally the conclusion part points out that this article only make the preliminary exploration and more thorough research is needed.
