Mr.Ding shande is a famous composer, pianist and educator in modern China. He had already been very active as a pianist on the scene early in the mid 1930's. Piano solos are his representative creative works, especially Xinjiang Dance (number 1 and 2),is well-known with liquid tone, rich content, clear pattern, succinct structure, master performance and the full-bodied flavor of ethical dance. It not only reflects the interest in art and the composing character of Chinese folk music, but also borrows the composing skills and the techniques of expression from western music, moreover, it attaches with the development of the times and the peoples tightly, expressing Mr.Sing's deeply patriotic affection and taste for beauty.This thesis takes Xinjiang Dance(number 1 and 2) as its subject of study. It studies its composing background and skills, performance techniques from different aspects and tries to mole out its deep-seated connotative meaning by blending into his unique aspect of view and thinking modelThis thesis was divided into 3 parts:Part 1.Introduction: It will make statements on the importance and meaning of choosing subject. And it will put up the main content of the statements through the reference of the situation of studies to this composition at home and abroad. Part 2.Body: This is the main part of this thesis, which is divided into 4 parts.Chapter 1 The characteristics of Xinjiang local music. It will learn about the ethical flavors of two pieces of Xinjiang dance through the social surroundings, ethical surroundings and characters of folk music in that area.Chapter 2 The composing experience and background of the two pieces of dance..It will summarize, compare and select from diffenent historical materials to state the composer's growing stages, composing stages and main works. And it will dig up more deeply for the overall study of the style of the two pieces of Xinjiang dance. Chapter 3 The comparison and analysis of the composing techniques of Xinjiang Dance (number 1 and 2 ) .This part makes detailed description, analysis and discussion to the two pieces of Xinjiang dance, focusing on 4 aspects, that is, music from, chord, melody, tone pattern and tone character. It tries to grasp the composer's composing character and music style wholly and understand the two works comprehensively and thoroughly to help us treasure the works better.Chapter 4 The analysis and comparison between the two compositions.This part analyses the requirements and principles on performance of the two compositions in details on the basis of my own study and performance, so that it can offer some theoretical basis for the performers to bring the value in art and history of this composition into full play and get it appreciated by people in a larger range. Chapter 5 The value of the compositions in the development of Chinese piano composing. Through the study, it learns that the two compositions melted the cultural temperament in music of both the East and the West. It accumulates experience for China's piano composing in early 1990s.Concluding remarks: This part will summarize the problems analyzed and discussed in the Body. And it will reach a basic argument and activate deeper studies.
