Ravel 23 Art Songs And Sound Practices

Maurice Ravel ( 1875-1937) is one of the most distinguished and representative composers in the French impressionism. The orchestral works are so dominating in his creation that accordingly influenced the number of his art songs. There are no more than 39 art songs in his composing field. Actually, there's few articles in our country's research of art songs presently. This article chose 23 of these songs as the subject of research, analyzed,disscussed,induced and summarized their characters of harmonic techniques, and made a necessary exploration to the expressional effect of these harmonic techniques.From this research of art songs' harmonic techniques, I wish to throw out a brick to attract a jade, so as to find a more fitting way to understand this great musician's creating specificity. Also this article hopes to encourage those now working at the creation of art songs, while it makes important theory meaning and practical significance.
