On Zhou Zuoren's Culture From The Perspective Of " Barbarous "

This thesis proceeds from the main idea savage,systematically dredging the relationship between anthropology and Zhou Zuoren's idea of literature and culture.It reveals the mutual relationship of anthropology and idea of Zhou Zuoren's Greece myth and Japanese culture together with his idea in Wu Si Period.It also re-explains the change of his literature idea before and after Wu Si Period.This change just bases on his knowledge of anthropology.In addition,this paper interprets the both part of Zhou Zuoren's literature idea with gentle and impulsive from anthropology, inquiring into some topics which haven't been noticed by scholars yet,such as Zhou Zuoren's idea of drama in anthropology field, pushing on the research after other scholars' work,such as going a step further to the character of his children idea in different period and analysis the limitation of his children idea getting from anthropology.The first part: Ancient Savage:Zhou Zuoren's Construction Of Folk Culture.Zhou Zuoren's idea of savage comes from anthropology.The ancient savage means he had much interest in the ancient culture of the human history,especially the Greece and Japanese culture.He found that the great part of one nation played the most important role in creating its national spirit.It was the spirit support which made one nation survived and developed.It was also the spirit power which encouraged and promoted the nation struggling for the same target positively.Therefore,Zhou Zuoren's introducing and translating the Greece and Japanese literature positively had a more rational purpose.He wanted to build the national spirit by exploring the great cultural resource which was accumulated and hided in the new cultural movement of Wu Si for long.The second part:Civil Savage:Zhou Zuoren's Folk Cultural Criticism.The folk cultural criticism of Zhou Zuoren was another part of his narrating Chinese culture.His literate idea was as gentle as impulsive.The first one based on his loving and positively advocating the great traditional culture of Greece,Japanese as well as China.Zhou Zuoren's concept of Civil Savage means his criticism on Chinese traditional literature and culture.This criticized concept come from anthropology.However,his criticized concept here based on the theory of Culture Remnant advocated by the English anthropologist of Frazer.Zhou Zuoren's folk cultural criticism started from his studying in Japan,and closed by publishing the article Reading With Closing The Door.It can pick into three part:cultural criticism and national refresh in early stage;Criticizing the tradition literature form and advocating Thought Revolution in Literature Revolution Period;Criticizing the feudal ethical code and the old ethics later in the 1920 age.The third part: Young Savage:From Children Literature To The Discovery Of Children.Zhou Zuoren said the young savage was the child.His thought also come from the western culture anthropology.If Ancient Savage and Civil Savage have the direct relationship with his anthropology knowledge, his cognition to children has an indirect relationship with anthropology. Expounding child by anthropology gives Zhou Zuoren's children idea some special colour.But in Zhou Zuoren's age, anthropology was just found as a new subject. A lot of its theory needed to correct and improve. It made Zhou Zuoren's children idea from anthropology had historical limitation.
