Digital Media Asset Management, which begin in the mid-1990s and is widely used in various media organizations over the world, is a relatively new field. University, as educational institutions of cultivating talents, own a huge number of digital media assets. The fact that digital assets are distributed in separate departments, thus lake of unified management and sharing, gives rise to a waste of digital teaching resources. Accordingly, a platform of is necessary and important. To an art institution, the platform helps to make good use of the digital resources to achieve the objectives of intensive storage, unified management, teachers and students sharing. Serving the professional teaching, artistic creation and administration, it maximizes efficiency of digital resources, and by its billing function, adds value to digital media assets.Firstly, this paper outlines media asset management in the digital era both at home and abroad and points out the necessity and possibility of building a digital media asset management platform. Based on an analysis of its implications, this paper Propose what's special about the management intellectual property protection of digital assets and value-added measure.Secondly, this paper discusses function and artistic principles, the network environment and hardware equipment and function modules including service module, resource module and management module.Finally, the paper from the user interface design, navigation and index and other aspects, examines the front office functions; from inventory management, customer management and systems management, the background functions. Afterword, it proposes the establishment of asset database and digital rights management program. The paper also suggests students participation and interactions between teacher users and student users.
