This is a project report from a working research paper published in 2017 on the World Bank: Municipal Asset Management in China's Small Cities and Towns: Findings and Strategies Ahead. It analyzed three typical small cities and towns in China and elaborates a series of measures to tackle the challenges of municipal asset management in China's small cities and towns.During translation, the writer analyzed the source text under the guidance of Christiane Nord's Skopos theory, and chose the method of replenishment, amplification and conversion in order to realize the style of the original text to target language reader. This report consists of four chapters.Chapter one provides a brief introduction to the background and significance as well as demand analysis of the translation task.Chapter two analyzed the source text and considered choice of translation strategies.Chapter three is translating methods and difficulties.Chapter four contains the experiences and lessons from the project and the prospects for further studies. The author hopes that the target text can provide a better look for Chinese researchers, business leaders and government officials in the field of China's small towns and cities' municipal asset management and offer some clues for a better management as the risk reminder of urban asset management that China faces in the future. Moreover, the author hopes that the translation project could serve as materials for related research and practice of translation.
