Through the research and analysis of the condition on Chinese traditional music education in sixteen regular institutions of higher education in Anhui, the author found a number of problems, which are the proportion of Chinese traditional music in the music courses offered in schools and the university's students'attitude and the level of cognition on the Chinese traditional music. These problems bring the author into thought of the regular institutions of higher education's education condition on Chinese traditional music and lead the author to put forward some constructive ideas and suggestions from the aspects of curriculum, teaching content, teaching plans and teaching programs, and further, the author discusses how to make efficient use of the regular institutions of higher education, the cultural front with full advantages to conduct education on Chinese traditional music and to pass on the magnificent tradition of Chinese music with long history from generation to generation.The essay emphasizes that the regular institutions of higher education should strengthen education on Chinese traditional music in music teaching and traditional music should be learned and inherited as a kind of culture. University students should be cultured the sense of identity of Chinese traditional music, which is embodied as the identity of cultural concept, the identity of cultural value and the identity of cultural emotions. Thus, they will have the correct value system and become one who has the sense of cultural belongingness, national cohesion and national pride.
