From the pragmatics angle, this paper discusses and elaborates the characteristics of the process of understanding and learning Chinese idioms of Southeast Asia foreign students in Chinese phrases teaching for foreigners by using important Linguistic Environment Theory in pragmatics, specifically studies the utilization of Linguistic Environment Theory in Chinese idiom teaching for foreigners.This article is divided into five parts.The first part analyzes the systematic characteristics of Chinese phrases from the aspect of language main body, elaborates the cognitive and comprehensive characteristics of Chinese idioms, and explicates the content and the importance of what this article studies.The second part draws the related conclusion from the experimental study on the characteristics of foreign students'Chinese idiom understanding, proposes the existing problems in the present idiom teaching, as well as the problems that the foreign students have in learning process.The third part elaborates in detail the Linguistic Environment Theory, which is one of the most important theories in pragmatics, and specifically studies the above problems by using this theory.According to preamble elaboration, the fourth part constructs the corresponding Chinese idiom teaching countermeasures and the methods.The paper unifies closely the actual problems in Chinese idiom teaching for foreigners, analyzes them by using the Linguistic Environment Theory, and so has very strongly practical value to the Chinese idiom teaching for foreigners and has important meaning for expanding the way of Chinese idiom teaching for foreigners.
