Chinese is one of the world's ancient and rich languages. Chinese vocabulary is rich and owns various forms of fixed phrases idioms, Chinese idioms is one of those. Chinese idioms are more expressive than common words. Its complex content and structure result in foreigners' biased errors and Chinese teaching's difficulty.This paper counts and concludes the Chinese idioms in the Developing Chinese textbooks that including Intermediate Speaking Course(I-II), Intermediate Reading Course(I), Advanced comprehensive Course(I), Advanced Speaking Course(I) and Advanced Reading Course(I); mainly analyze these idioms from its grammar structure, emotional coloring and generation age. Additionally, to have a good understanding about in what situation foreigners who are studying Chinese and improve our teaching, writer carry out a Chinese idioms learning questionnaire to forty-seven foreigner students who use the Developing Chinese textbooks. This paper made a quantitative analysis on the questionnaires based on the survey students using idioms, the study found that students' error rate was the highest in forms and meanings of idioms. Then analyze reasons from the viewpoint of subjective and objective. Finally,writer put forward corresponding teaching suggestions designed for students using idioms error causes and according to the textbooks, including stimulate students interest in learning idioms, create a harmonious atmosphere of teaching idioms and enrich idiom teaching methods..
