Study Of Ethnic Separatism In Chechnya

Ethnic separatism problem in Chechnya is one of profound political issues that happened before and after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Before and after the break-up of the Soviet Union, Chechnya separation forces that led by Dudayev put forward to sovereignty request. At the same time, it gradually made armed conflicts with Russia in a long term and Chechnya became hot spots with wide attention in the world. Chechnya crisis is the fiercest and the most lasting issue in all of the complicated ethnic problems of Russia. And it had a profound effect on domestic political process, national process and state development in the future. The thesis totally includes six parts.The first part is the introduction. It introduces the basic theory of nationalism, ethnic separatism, and the significance of the research of the ethnic separatism in Chechnya and related researches'achievements at home and abroad. It also shows research methods and innovative points.The second part describes origin of Chechnya separatism. Besides, it tells geographical and political environment, the formation, distribution and development of Chechen nation, especially the period of history when Chechens were exiled to central Asia in Soviet era.The third part is the development of Chechnya ethnic separatism. It mainly states the causes of Chechnya separation forces from reasons and forms factors, and incorrect use of the right of nations of self-determination. It also presents the influence of Great-Russia Chauvinism and expansion of Chechnya separatisms. At the same time, there are some new problems about rights of man and policies when the Russian government handles with problems of Chechnya.The fourth part is about intensification of Chechnya separatism. And it mainly expounds the influences of the western countries, Islamic countries and extreme terrorist forces to Chechnya issue.The fifth part tells impacts and inspiration of Chechnya separatism, and mainly expounds experience and lessons in Russia. Furthermore, it guides the world to acknowledge history between Chechnya and Russia.The sixth part is the conclusions part. It is a summary of researches of Chechnya separatism.
