A Study On The Choice And Influencing Factors Of Old - Age Care For The Elderly In Beijing

In the backdrop of the rapid development of aging, It is not harmonious between the residents’ fast rhythm of life and the shrinking family size in Beijing. It can’t meet the demand of the elderly endowment and the quality of life only with the way of family pension. In order to effectively guarantee the olders’ quality of life, the government in Beijing proposes an endowment pattern of "9064" target in accordance with the unified national undertaking development, deployment and combines with the city’s specific situation, regarding the concept of "Comprehensive care, key take care" as the principle. These years, the government integrates the social resources, accelerates the construction of old-age service system, supports the development of diversified mode of endowment and pension services, accelerates the construction of community service system for the old, and supports social forces to set up pension services, all of the measures vigorously promote the development of the pension of Beijing. To understand the situation of the development of the "9064" endowment pattern in Beijing and the influence factors of the choice of the ways of the elderly pension are not only the summary of the development process, but also the important basis to promote the development of aging in the future. This paper is based on these problems, regards the old people aged 60 and above in Beijing as the research object and focuses on the endowment ways. Firstly, it grasps the development situation of Beijing municipal pension mode as a whole based on confirms the development and objective of the endowment way in Beijing and the macro data. Then it focuses on the pension mode selection and endowment service problems after acquainting the situations and reasons the subjects choose endowment way on the basis of domestic and foreign relevant theory, policy and practice and the micro survey data. After that, we investigate the influence factors that the objects choose endowment way with the methods of descriptive analysis, chi-square test and multiple regression analysis. Conclusions are obtained: income is the first reason the elderly who choose the endowment way in the current, then comes the self-care situation. The endowment concept affects the willing of elders’ endowment way most, the second is the self-care situation. The influence factors of pension mode selection and the degree of differences show that many factors restrict the choice of different endowment ways. Last but not least, this paper put forward a way of theoretical support, overall train of thought and specific direction to optimize the endowment policies and practices from the view of the service object.
