Japan started its post-war reconstruction after the Second World War, and gradually made itself an economics superpower through its internal efforts. During this period, Israel was experiencing the struggling in founding the state with the support of the U.S. and other western countries. Israeli-Palestinian conflict was still a lingering haze in the Middle East. When Japan had changed its energy structure to develop national economy, Arabia countries was launching the oil cut and embargo to boycott western countries. In this oil crisis, Japan adopt the strategy of “close the Arabia countries, against Israel”, and had successfully maintained its energy security. After the Cold War, the relations between Japan and Israel was gradually warming up that two countries began to enjoy closer bilateral democracy and trade relations. However, there were some underlying factors affecting the bilateral relation.This paper firstly expounds the relationship evolvement between Japan and Israel during the Cold War. Secondly, this paper analyzes the situation of Japan-Israel bilateral diplomacy and trade after the Cold War. Then this paper proposes four factors that affecting bilateral relations, which are energy security, the influence from the U.S., the situation of the Middle East, and the changing world. In the end, this paper analyzes the influence of the Japan-Israel relation, towards the Japan-US Alliance and situation of Middle East.
