After the cold war,although the strength of Russia wasn’t as good as the SovietUnion,in the world which still has a great influence. Russia and Japan have gotten ridof the ideological confron tation, and gradually added the cooperation. Since21stcentury, Russia and Japan have adjusted its foreign strategy respectively according totheir respective national interests. The development of bilateral relations changeprofoundly affects the situation of the development of the asia-pacific region and theworld. Especially after the cold war.This paper made a comprehensive and systematicstudy of the Russian and Japanese relations after the post-cold-war.The first part introduces after the cold war, the relations between Russia andJapan. Reviewing the relations in the Yeltsin era between Russia and Japan. Both ofthe two countries in face of a new pattern of the regional strategy order have madediplomatic strategy adjustment accordingly. Under the new national interests drive,Russia and Japan had actively build their new international strategic frameworkAgainst this background,the relations between Russia and Japan in the the early daysof post-cold-war, gradually fade out on territorial issues, bilateral relations have newdevelopment.The second part,the new development of the Russian and Japanese relations inthe new century is introduced. The relations in Putin and Mendeleev administrationsbetween Russia and Japan are made a review. Due to the NATO’s eastward expansion,together with Japan’s position in east Asia is gradually weakening, the relationsbetween Russia and Japanese is no longer awalys the territorial issues on both sides.The two countries in considering with the national interests and economic interests,all think it is realistic development of the relationship, so the existence of territorialissues can’t prevent the relations between the two countries from developping.The third part, the three factors are detailed analysis that promotes thedevelopment of relations between Russia and Japan: the objective requirement of theRussia and Japan promoting their international status; the demand of economic andtrade cooperation between the Russian and Japanese; the cooperation between Russiaand Japanese energy. As the two countries of their own national interests isthe fundamental. Therefore, analyzing the relation between Russia and Japan driversmust stand in the two countries to analyze the realistic national interests.Firstlyanalysis is from the great appeal of Russia and Japan. During the cold war, the Sovietunion, relations between the development of the restriction of the ideology. After theend of the cold war, profound changes have taken place in the world, themulti-polarization trend has become increasingly apparent. And lastly discusses how the Russian and Japaneconomic, trade and energy cooperation to promote the development of relationsbetween the two countries. Economic and trade relations between the two countries gradually back ontrack, positive development momentum. Finally in this part discusses the energycooperation is how to promote the development of the relations between Russia andJapan.Energy cooperation between the Russia and Japan belongs to the level ofbilateral economic and trade development, the inductive out alone, the problem ofenergy because the energy problem is no longer a pure economic problem, it isinvolved in a country’s foreign strategy, national security, economic benefits and so onvarious comprehensive strategic problem.The fourth part, After the cold war, both Russia and Japan take a variety of waysto make consultation, actively improve bilateral relations. But the relations betweenRussia and Japan also exist in the development of restricting factors. The factorswhich restrict the development of the relations between Russia and Japan: thehistorical factors; the American factors; the Korean Peninsula factors. At first,historical factors is emphasized on the territorial disputes and national trust. Then theAmerican factors in the US and Japan alliance, is how to restrict the development ofrelations between Russia and Japan are discussed in detail. Russia and Japan has along history of contacts. Reviews the historical process of relations between t Russiaand Japan, territorial issues and distrust between the ethnic relations between the twocountries can’t step forward of the biggest constraints. Due to the complicatedhistorical factors, the Russia and Japan territorial dispute between affects not only therelationship between the two countries, and has a certain influence on east Asian orderstability.The United States as the world’s only superpower, has an important influenceon the development of relationship between Russia and Japan. Historically, the UnitedStates for the Russia and Japan territorial issues have unshirkable responsibility,directly caused the relations between Russia and Japan in the most difficult to solvefast knot.Finally the Korean Peninsula specter the meaning of intention in the KoreanPeninsula strategy, discusses the issues on the Korean Peninsula influences thedevelopment of Russian Japanese relations. The Korean peninsula is Russia, theUnited States, Japan, and the interests of China’s four big collection point, to someextent, directly affects the interaction between the four powers. The Korean peninsulain Russia and Japan have very unique strategic value.The fifth part introduces the prospects of Russian-Japanese relations. Theterritorial disputes between Russia and Japan are difficult to solve in a short period oftime,and the relation between Russia and Japan still has great space for development.Russia and Japan have the mutual need in the real national interest, so Russia andJapan will have common ground and reserve differences, mutual compromise, dealingwith the friction, disputes and positive negotiation strategies, the relation between thetwo countries will have further advance the development.
