Research On Community Old - Age Service Of Retired Workers In Community - Based Community

As China’s period of population aging has come, the pension problem would bring about significant influences on both social and economic development. The statistical data shows that, the population of aged people in our country has grown at a number of 5 million per year at least, since the beginning of 21 st century. It has directly put great pressure on basic pension insurance and medical insurance. Meanwhile, the development of service industry for aged people cannot match with the growth of aged people results in the carelessness for aged people’s material and spiritual problems. In order to solve these problems, we should put the development of social work for aged people in the first place. Social work for aged people is a connection between home-based care, community-based care and society-based care. The community-based care plays an important role in satisfying aged people’s needs, because it can both use resources more efficiently than that of home-based care and make aged people feel much more comfortable than that of society-based care. After all, most aged people are likely to live and make activities in their own community. This paper mainly discusses about the types of community-based care service we should establish to satisfy the spiritual, living and medical needs of aged people.This paper chooses Community H that belongs to H company as its research subject. The reason of choosing a unit-type community is that it is developing in the direction of city-type community. So it has characteristics of city-type community, meanwhile, it can use resources efficiently. The reason why a lot of communities cannot develop its service for aged people deeply and most social organizations are not willing to buy government programs that designed for aged people, lies on the fact that the community service for aged people system is not a circle but a one-sided investment. Although retired workers can not represent all of added people the purpose of choosing the unit-type community is to see big things through small ones, so that it can help develop community service for added people better. This paper gets its resources through the investigation to 302 retired workers and the interview of 8 from them.The author help Community H improve its community service for aged people through life caring, medical service and community activity, and provide suggestions as below, Make its community service workers more professional; Develop a volunteer team of Community H; Bring in or establish non-profit social organization; A college for aged people should be founded; Establish aged people’s meal table; Develop community service for aged people on internet; Community H’s unit charactistic can build a foundation of community service of aged people that is different from commodity-type community. It is hoped to improve community service for aged people in all aspects and form Community H’s own community service for aged people system by self-help and mutual help mode between residents.
