The content of Lenin’s thought of socialist equality is rich and profound. In this paper, the author intends to present Lenin’s thought comprehensively and objectively though researching Lenin’s original and treating Lenin’s thought of socialist equality specifically and historically.In this paper, firstly, the author explores sources of Lenin’s thought of socialist equality comprehensively, points out that the Marx’s concept of equality and Lenin’s criticisms of all kinds of anti-socialist equality views are its important theoretical sources; points out that a wide range of international and domestic inequality status quo and a variety of limitation factors of equality realization are its background. Secondly, the author discusses Lenin’s views about the connotations of socialist equality and main aspects of socialist equality content. Furthermore, the author discusses practical measures that Lenin made in the process of pursuing equality. The author points out that Lenin regarded socialist equality as the equality of social status and the equality of people who are exploited, in addition Lenin expounded it was necessary to realize equality of economic, politics, nation, education and the equality between man and woman in socialist society. Lenin also pointed out that it was necessary for Soviet state to develop productive forces, Improve people’s quality, establish some relevant institutions and regulations to realize socialist equality. Lastly, the author summarizes historical status and realistic inspirations of Lenin’s thought of socialist equality, points out that Lenin’s thought of socialist equality inherited and developed the Marx’s equality theory, and points out many limitations about the thought itself. People in our country can draw some valuable inspirations from Lenin’s thought of socialist equality which are it is very important to adhere to equality ideals so that to promote equality, to develop productive forces so that to lay a solid foundation for equality realization, to emphasize system construction so that to guarantee equality realization in our country.Lenin’s thought of socialist equality is significant to guide us to create a equal and harmonious society in our country, it is also the guideline to promote realizing Chinese nation’s great rejuvenation in advance.
