In the process of deepening the process of globalization, countries increasingly close relationship, to strengthen security cooperation between countries to safeguard national security, it is an effective way to seek security interests. Since the 1990s, based on common security, security cooperation, the comprehensive security concept of security to the security strategy in many countries of the world and many of today’s international security cooperation mechanism in the world, the region had a significant impact. Lao government have taken advantage of that "mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality and cooperation," the security concept, and the concept of national security as a core strategy.In the Lao National Security Strategy Concept, the GMS countries in the historical, cultural, ethnic and other aspects of Laos have deep historical roots, it has enjoyed an important position in the Lao national strategies. Greater Mekong Subregion countries are currently non-traditional security problems mainly, drugs, AIDS, transnational crime, environmental pollution, etc., these non-traditional security not only pose a threat to national security in Laos, but also influence into the GMS countries development and progress. Build a regional security community from the perspective of joint law enforcement operations in the Greater Mekong Subregion countries for regional security cooperation provided useful experience. In Laos and the Greater Mekong sub-regional cooperation in national security, non-traditional security cooperation in the following characteristics, the first is the level of diversity, and the second is the diversification of participation, and the third is the diversification of forms of cooperation. Laos to participate in GMS cooperation in security, in addition to adhere to the national security concept of "mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality and cooperation", the action should be actively and effectively participate in the cooperation, and establish a responsible image of the country, while also needs and extra-regional countries and regions to maintain contact and communication on the situation carefully judged and treated, so as to effectively safeguard national security interests of Laos.This paper will discuss non-traditional security theory as a starting point to explain to participate in the GMS Lao background and basis of non-traditional security cooperation, analysis GMS countries face major non-traditional security issues, and noted that Laos Participating Current Situation and Dilemma of national non-traditional security cooperation in the Mekong subregion. Finally, recommendations deepen GMS Lao participate in non-traditional security cooperation.
