The works of Mencius is a classic on ideological and political education of ancient China. It is an authentic and plentiful record of Mencius?theory and practice of ideological and political education. In brief, the so-called ideological and political education is the ideological education serving politics. The ideological and political education and the general education are not only distinguished but also related.Mencius?ideological and political education serves to achieve his political ideal. Mencius believed that the only ruler loving and protecting the people can attain the Imperial Sway, and only such ruler can achieve Mencius political ideal of 揜oyal Government? Therefore, the ideological and political education of Mencius regards rulers as the education抯 object only. The aim of Mencius?education is to develop the rulers into loving and protecting the people to attain the Imperial Sway.Firstly, this thesis states the theory of Mencius?ideological and political education briefly. Secondly, it puts forward that the key argument 搕he ruler loving and protecting the people can attain the Imperial Sway?is the aim of Mencius?ideological and political education. Thirdly, it expounds and proves what are the contents of the specific requests of this aim to the rulers. Finally, it states the importance of this aim in theortical, historical and practical aspects.Studying Mencius?theory of ideological and political education we can find out the physiognomy of ideological and political education of ancient China, and sum up the experiences and draw lessons. We can absorb the positive achievements to promote ideological and political education. And make the past serve the present. It is very positive for our party抯 theory and practice of ideological and political education.
