Putin's Power Revival Strategy

The disintegration of the Soviet Union and the independence of Russia, two most important historical events in the 20th century, have greatly changed the political pattern of the world and the prospect of Russia. Russians, adopting the political and economic patterns of Western countries, began to reform its country. The transition of the political and economic system lasted 8 years. However, its completion brought Russia continuous political instability, economic recession and cultural perplexity rather than prosperity and rejuvenation. In a word, Russia came to historical exhaustion. It is president Putin who has undertaken the task of making Russia a powerful and prosperous country. He has planed the strategy of strengthening and rejuvenation in the long run, as well as the promotion of the construction of internal affairs and diplomacy. Sticking to " the principle of Russian Thoughts" , based on full understanding of the national and international situations, Putin has systematically worked out a series of strategies, from the authoritarian-oriented political strategy to" the third Road "economic development strategy and from the great power diplomatic strategy in all directions to the new security strategy. These strategies correlate with each other and are integrated into the strategy of strengthening and rejuvenation. In addition, President Putin has taken corresponding actions and achieved some results. This article, starting with the background of the strategy of strengthening and rejuvenation, attempts to analyze its characteristics, tentatively explore its influence on sino-Russian relations and forecast its prospect.
