Study Of The Development Of New Urban Areas In Dalian

Peace and development are the main themes of today's world. With this as the background, the trend of globalization of world economy has become increasingly evident. The experiences and lessons learned from the free ports of the world and the great practice of our country's reform and opening up have provided wonderful opportunities to the coastal cities for establishing more open areas with new style, to actively take part in the division of labor and cooperation of international economy, and to speed up the economic development and social progress.To establish new urban areas is to select the cities with favorable conditions and carry out highly open policies similar to that of the free ports to escalate our country's opening up. New economic growing poles will be thus formed to drive our economy to develop rapidly at all aspects. So it is a very wise action to follow the development rules of the world and a necessary strategic option we must choose when our country steps forward to an economic power at the turn of the century.A series feasible solutions is put forward in this thesis mainly about the necessity and advantages for Dalian to establish new urban area. These solutions include the guiding thought, major functions, system design of Dalian new urban area and it's industrial pattern.
