On The Regeneration Of Confucianism In Modern Democratic Systems

The crisis of democracy has arisen in Western society. The Western Scholars raised many democratic theories,but they couldn't reveal the real source of the crisis of democracy. The Western Marxist scholars revealed the inherent source of modern crisis of democracy from the point of alienation and analysed the overall alienation situation in the Western modern society. They held that reification democratic system itself which unbalanced stressed human naturalism and the cultural spirit of individualism which stressed materialism and rationalism caused the crisis of democracy. The rich humanism factors of sociality and spirituality and democratic factors in Confucianism are beneficial supplement to the Western modern democratic system and the Western ideology can remedy the defect of Confucianism which despised human natural nature. To promote harmony and reviviscence of Confucianism,Western ideology of democracy and liberty and Marxism in modern democratic system,to establish the overall humanism democratic values combining natural nature,spirituality and sociality are of great significance in theory and reality in dispelling the crisis of democracy in Western society and promoting the progress of democracy and government by law in China.
