Ipma And Pmi Certification System, A Comparative Study

The International Project Management Association (IPMA) in Europe and Project Management Institute (PMI) in the United States are famous worldwide project management organizations. And by making a comparative research between them, the thesis analyses their qualification certification systems respectively in order to find the differentia and sameness. The ultimate goal of this thesis is to constitute a competence certification system of our country according to the situation and phase in which Chinese project management is.In the first and second chapters, the thesis gives the fundamental about project management and project management certification systems, and introduces the developments of both certification systems. From the third to the fifth chapter, the thesis starts on comparison of certification systems between IPMA and PMI, which includes the following three aspects: knowledge system, assessment, adaptive ability. In the end, according to the extant situation of cultivation and assessment to project management personnel in China, the author brings forth some positive advice for developing our country's project management certification systems, such as the construction of knowledge system and assessment organization, strengthening international cooperation and communication.
