With the globalization of the market,the supply chain management is facing with more and more challenges and opportunities. Various advanced technologies and concepts have been applied to improving and optimizing supply chain management. However,the traditional technologies for supply chain management are mostly focusing on solving local problems,lacking the abilities of exploring supply chain inter-relationship systematically,analyzing and extracting the general characters in supply chain management,detecting key problems in process and coordinating the operational activities among supply chain partners. So there is certain limitation for improving the agility of supply chain.In this paper,the limitation of traditional technologies and methods for supply chain management are analyzed firstly. Then an agile supply chain system based on coordination and decision-making center is proposed. UML is employed to analyze and devise this system. Because of the hugeness and complexity of the whole supply chain system,this paper puts stress on the studies on the coordinating and decision-making technology for agile supply chain system. A prototype system has been developed successfully. The system is based on an optimization model to help solving the problems occurring in supply chain and provide the optimal solution for supply chain partners,so that the operational efficiency can be improved and the agility of the whole system can be enhanced.Finally,the summary of this paper is given and some suggestions are made for further research on this topic.
