Along with the arrival of knowledge-based economy and China joining into WTO, Chinese traditional hotels' organization and function, management ideas and philosophy, and services are facing comprehensive challenges, and under dramatic changes. In the new century, enhancing the development of human resources is the main approach for Chinese hotels to adapt to competition and meet new challenges.After almost a year's survey of star-hotels in Hunan province anddata collection, the author tries to analyze commonness existing inhuman resources of star-hotels in Hunan province, and compare theindividuality of human resources existing in different star-level hotels ofdifferent regions. Through examples and analyses, the author finds outthe primary issues existing in human resources of star-hotels in Hunanprovince and the cause. Integrating theories with management practicesin star-hotels, the author puts forward several countermeasures. Inmacro-management, we should optimize the environment, enhanceemployees' professional level and facilitate rational and orderly flow oftalents. In micro-management, every star-hotel should exert modernhuman resources management measures and methods, consolidate theprofessional training of employees, perfect inspiration mechanism,launch the employee's vocational life management, and advance theconstruction of hotel culture. Through these measures, we can constantlyimprove the quality of human resources and boost the generalcompetition capability of star-hotels in Hunan province.
