China's tourist industry has greatly developed through efforts of more than twenty years since the reform and opening to the outside world began. In spite of the achievement, the "Matthew Principle* is still significantly striking as the result of the unbalanced economical levels in different regions. This has caused the imbalance in the tourist industry, with the effect that the industry in west china is Noticeably behind that in the east. If such a loss of balance continued, our national tourist industry would be badly prevented from a constant and stable development. Therefore, it is a must to carry out a developmental strategy for tourism the west. The implementation of the state strategy for developing the west provides a good historical opportunity for enhancing its tourists industry. This adds an environmental condition to the industry which possesses the favouring geography with the advantageous resources. The strategy for developing the tourist industry in west china is of great importance as the strategy is beneficial not only to the exertion of the resources Advantage, to shorten the gap between the eastern and western regions, to fully enhance the economical and cultural competence in the west, but also beneficial to readjusting and making better the industrial structure for the purpose of realizing the sustainable development In this case, if tourism in the west advances, it can be an enormous push to the realization of the national strategy of developing the west,Tourism in the west has achieved a rapid development since the reform and opening to the outside world began twenty years ago. Nevertheless, its status quo is far behind compared with tourism in the East, which is out of place to the essential position it keeps throughout China in terms of its tourist resources. The tourist resources are the material basis for the tourist industry to operate with, The west is very rich in its natural, humanitarian and social tourist resources, These resources, advantageous as they are, is yet to be fully exploited.ln contrast with the eastern region, the western provinces, including the autonomous region and cities, suffer in different levels insufficient exploitation of their own tourist resources. This essay first offers a list of the features in the tourist resources of the salt lake in qinghai province, and then gives an analysis of the feasibility in developingThese resources while designing a package of developmental projects. It is clear from this essay that the Salt lake can be a grand tourist site once its resources are developed and applied. Furthermore, if qinghai province can make full use of its rich tourist resources, it is sure to free itself of the last or last but one position in china in terms of its tourist income, by making tourism the pillar industry.Market projection is another major factor to develop tourist industry. The keythat determines the survival and progress of tourism is the timely and accurate mastery of the market information and changing trend with the help of the predicting means. To demonstrate this, this essay adopts the statistics of those overseas tourists visiting Guizhou province between 1990 and 2000. The statistics is then processed by the following analytic measures to predict the tourist market: the floating per capita, the index smooth and line return. In this way, a prediction is made of the number of overseas tourists who would visit Guizhou province in 2001, with a contrast between the predicted number and the real data of the tourists. The prediction and contrast help to theorize that different approaches should be applied to predict different types of tourist markets which can be classified according to the trend, the season, the stability, and the random purposes. And out of this theorization, the best predicting approach become prominent through the error analysis of all the predicted results.Although west china has its unique advantage in developing tourism, it also has clear problems to deal with, For example, among those obs...
