Owing to the ability and action in improving the level of service together with the function of the third profit fountain, the modern logistics has played a key role in the competition of the enterprises. The logistics industry is the artery and the basic industry of the national economic development in the world. Its development level is one of the important marks to evaluate the level of state modernization and comprehensive national strength. Logistics is the accelerator of the economic development.It is a fact that the logistics industry has been the significant industry in the market economy of the develop countries. American economist Peter Duclar predicted in the sixties of the 20th century that logistics industry would be the dark-continent of economic growth in every countries, the last way of reducing the cost, the third profit sources after controlling the materials expenses and improving the labor productivity, as well as the unopened-up virgin soil. The logistics industry in America, Japan and Europe has arrived at advanced level phases. There are amount of experiences for us to use for reference in their development in logistics industry. After 20 years development, the logistics industry in China has been made great progress, but our comprehensive level is still backward over 20 years compared with them. China's logistics industry will be faced with great development opportunity in the condition of today's national economy.Based on plenty of rich data from the logistics industry, the author analyzes the status quo of the logistics industry in China, together with the questions, the opportunity and challenge. Compared with the development of logistics industry in the advanced countries, combined with the interrelation between the logistics and the national economy development, the author proposes the countermeasure for Chinese logistics industry.For lack of sufficient time and data, this paper is limited in its depth and width for illustrating an entire logistics industry in China. However, the author sincerely hopes that this paper sheds some lights on further research in this field. |
