Foreign Security Escort Business Strategy In China To Explore

The modern Security Escort Industry in China is a newly developed business since 1996. It was born under the circumstance of planned economy in China, which is hindering its further development. As China enters WTO, the whole service industry will be opening to the outside world, including Security Escort Industry. It's imperative for Chinese Security Escort Companies to adjust business strategy accordingly and set up competitive strategy based on individual competitive advantages, to deal with the fierce competition from either abroad or home in very near future. In this article, I tried to look for suitable competitive strategies for local Security Escort Companies. Main analysis of this article was based on Michael Porter's three competitive strategy theories as well as his theory on competitive advantages. The article consists of three parts. In the first part, the history of western developed Security Escort Industry was reviewed. Brief analysis on its update development was also introduced. The second part mainly described the background of China's Security Escort Industry, pointing out the major problems existing in local escort companies. The third part introduced Michael Porter's theories on competitive advantages and competitive strategy, which were used as theory support for practical suggestions in latter part of this article. Individual competitive advantages and strategies of western and Chinese security escort companies were compared in the fourth and fifth parts and in the last part, suggestions on strategy choices for local escort companies was made on basis of assumptions of industry policy adjustments.This article applies competitive theory to the practice of China's security escort industry and combines case analysis with theory introduction.Due to time limit and insufficient knowledge about the escort industry of the author, the analysis of Chinese escort companies and strategy suggestions are not in-depth enough, which may require further polish by professionals from the industry.
