With the acceleration of globalization. Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) has replaced the traditional tariff barriers to be the hardest barrier in nowadays' trade activities. Step by step it also became many countries', especially those developed ones' most powerful and tiptop way to implement their trade protectionism. Now TBT, replacing the former anti-dumping, has become the hardest non-tariff barrier to China's export. Anti-TBT becomes China export's most urgent problem to be solved.First, this thesis brings forth the essential information about TBT, including concept, action mechanism, content and characteristic. The first part elucidates the reasons for TBT's rapid development and for many countries' high-frequency use.The second part summarizes the impact on current international trade and its status quo. Then the thesis casts lights into its development trend.The third part of this thesis, by studying China's export and some industries, summarizes TBT's impact on China's economy and some industries. The impact of TBT measure in three China's main export markets (US, EU and Japan) on China's economy and related industries is also concluded respectively in this part. All in all, this part illustrates the hard situation facing China's export.The forth part of this thesis mainly introduces the main regulations about TBT instituted in WTO, including the history and main content of The WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, and TBT's dispute settlement.The fifth part centers on the progress on anti-TBT, the problems we have and the measures taken.The last part puts forward writer's suggestions on China's anti-TBT, taking the conclusion from former parts and our conditions and economic situation into consideration.
