Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Coordinated Development Of Empirical Research

The unbalance in the development of regional economy is a global problem, which can be considered insurmountable difficulty in the approach to industrialization of economy in big countries. As a developing country, China's economic and social development has amounted to world-known achievements after more than 20 years' of reforms and opening to the outside world. Meanwhile, the gap between Chinese East and Chinese West is relatively considerable. In the year of 2000, the government formally started the grand project of West Development. Ningxia Province, being the comparatively backward region in China, let alone in Chinese West, is aware that it is a hut nut to seize the opportunity of West Development, to develop its economy and to harmonize economic development with environmental protection.A system with some parts of the information known and some parts unknown is called a Gray System. The theory of Gray System extends the common system theory, information theory and controlment theory into the abstract systems such as society, economy and ecology etc, and at the same time applies mathematical approaches, thus develops a set of theories and approaches to solve the problem of information-intact. The said theory was founded and developed in the 1980s by Prof. Deng Julong of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. This thesis analyzes Ningxia's current situation of regional development and the comparison between Ningxia and the east, middle, and west regions of China, together with the application of the Gray System model, predicts the social and economic development in Ningxia and furthermore suggests a serious of countermeasures.The research structure of the thesis is as below:Chapter One: Introduction. State the researching background, the aim, the meaning, and the researching theories and methods applied, together with the object and contents.Chapter Two: Introduce development theories and practice in undeveloped regionsChapter Three: Analyze the regional development current situation in Ningxia and its comparison with that of the east, middle, and west of China.Chapter Four: Analyze the coordinated development of population, resources, environment and the complicated economic system in Ningxia.Chapter Five: Analyze and predict social and economic situation in Ningxia with application of Gray Theory.Chapter Six: Suggest a series of analyses and countermeasures concerning coordinated development of regional system in Ningxia.
