The unbalanced development of regional economy is a common problem existing in all the countries in the whole world. The influence of many factors such as nature, history geography, polity and society has caused the unevenness development of regional economy in our country. Especially after the reforming and opening to the world, policy of priority to develop east area in the distribution of productive capability has accelerated the forming of trapezoid development from east part to middle area to west part. Economy development in east area has made it much powerful than other parts of China in economic aspects. Simultaneously the gap among east, west and middle part in economy development has been enlarged. In this paper, from the reality degree we have analyzed the reasons and the status of differences of regional economic development on the basis of the regional economy theory, and also put forward the countermeasures of coordinated growth of regional economy in the whole our country. Main study contents are indicated in the following :l.The theories of coordinated development of regional economy. Three development phases of regional economic theory have been introduced, which made a deep study on existing regional economic theory. It includes evenness development theory, regional economic growth theory, growth limiting theory, regional development trapezoid theory, production factors natural theory, dynamic priority theory, dependence of regional economic development, and so on. All these theories would give us great enlightenments in the area of regional economic development. Also the division of our regional area like south, east and west parts as well as their development strategic implemented since the foundation of our country have been discussed in this paper.2.The disparity analysis of the differences of regional economic development in each parts of China. The key differences includes: the rising expanded differences of regional economic development; different phases of their development on industrialization and civilization; the different growth degree in marketing development and opening up to the world; the disparity of production structure; and obvious irrational dissemination on production structure in western area. Based on these descriptions, detailed causes for thegaps among western, eastern, and middle parts have been analyzed. It includes factors ofculture and consciousness, thinking and conception; factors of district and history; alsofactors of policy and system; as well as the factors of non-national economic development, which is also the key element.3.The Summing-up of three descriptions of existing regional economic theories. The paper has defined the conception and signs of regional balanced development, summed up the great significance of regional evenness development, and put forward the conditions which our country have owned at present to develop regional economy in western and middle areas.4. The counter-measures of promoting the economic coordinated development in western and middle areas. Several issues and relationships that should be paid attention to and should be dealt with have been raised in the first part of this section. The method to accelerate the construction of middle-western part has been put forward at the end of this paper. It includes: (l)further adjustment and improvement on regional policies, and additional of the input of policy and capital from the central government to middle-western areas; (2)widely promoting the economic and technical cooperation in multi-levels and multi-forms among eastern, middle and western areas, and also additional of the help and assistance from eastern part to middle-western areas; (3) speeding up the progress of reforming and opening in middle-western areas, and further seeking for the countermeasures suitable for domestic and international market development as well as the situation of middle-western regions.
