Empirical Analysis Of The Core Competitiveness Of China's Private Listed Companies

The linguistic meaning of Core Competence in English is core ability or core technical skill. The concept is often used in the comparison between a company and its rivals, so, in Chinese context, core competence is more appropriate.The concept of enterprise's core competence has received great concern since it was proposed firstly by Prahalad C.K. and Gray Hamel in 1990. The research concerned is being deepened constantly and has become the strategic choice of enterprises. Our country is in the key periods of economic structural readjustment and enterprise's reform, the research and practice of enterprise's core competence bear outstanding realistic meanings.With the deepening of reform and opening, non-state-run economy has become an unusually active economic force of our country and plays a more significant role in national economy. By 2002, being the important component of our national economy, non-state-run economy has contributed 80% of our domestic GDP increment.In the dissertation, I make some theoretical research and analytic demonstration to the domestic non-state-run listed enterprises and their core competence, in order to comprehend the evolution of the theory of enterprise's core competence roundly, to understand the real connotation of it accurately, and to study the current situation of the core competence of the domestic non-state-run listed enterprises systematically. I have analysed above-mentioned problems from the following several angles:1) The historical origin, definition and the current situation of the theory. Non-state-run economy is an opposite economic mode to state-run economy. What it emphasized is the ownership of the right of management of the enterprises. I summarize the definition of non-state-run economy and make some study on its current situation.2) The theoretical definition of Core Competence. The research of enterprise's core competence is a hot problem. I discuss the enterprise's core competence in terms of theory origin, basic connotation, etc.3) Study on the evaluation indexes system for non-state-run enterprise'score competence. At present, evaluation on enterprise's core competence is mostly qualitative analysis. Among the few quantitative analyses, there is lack of simple and effective method to evaluate enterprise's core competence, because basic data is difficult to obtain or the weight in index system is hard to determine. On the basis of combining the characteristic of domestic non-state-run enterprise, I design a set of theory index system and practice index system to evaluate domestic non-state-run listed enterprises tentatively.4) Analytic demonstration of the core competence of non-state-run listed enterprises. I make analytic demonstration to the core competence of non-state-run listed enterprises in the tertiary industry by using the practice index system and SPSS Statistical analysis software. At the same time, I also make comparison by choosing proper sample enterprises.5) The countermeasure for non-state-run listed enterprises to cultivate and develop core competence. Although non-state-run listed enterprise of our country makes certain achievement, it is still immature comparing with large-scale state-run enterprise and multi-national enterprise. In order to prevail over competition, non-state-run listed enterprise must foster and develop its own core competence constantly. I put forward some suggestion tentatively.In summary, this article, from the theory to the practice, discuss the core competence of domestic non-state-run listed enterprise tentatively, and put forward some immature assumption, expecting to have realistic significance in the development of domestic non-state-run economy.
