China and Japan are neighboring countries with history of thousands of years of economic relation, possess the natural advantage of economic cooperation. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1972, especially China carries out the reform and open policy, the Sino-Japan economy cooperation develops rapidly, and the effect is notable. Now the personnel, commodity and capital flow prosperously, China and Japan become important trade partner to each other; On the other hand, inharmonious viewpoints such as " industry hollow ", "China threat" appeared in Japan, trade friction increases in larger number and wider scope. We need to think deeply under this background: as the largest developing country and the second largest developed country in the world, what are the main issues during the cooperation? What are the reasons for the issues? How to make use of advantageous factors, solve the disadvantageous factors, push Sino-Japan economic cooperation to the new height? Concerning the above problems, the thesis manages to study the difficulties in the Sino-Japan economic and trade cooperation and try to find new ways to make breakthrough.The thesis is divided into three sections.The first section gives a brief review to Sino-Japan economic and trade cooperation. Sino-Japan economic and trade cooperation lasted for thousands of years. The difference of economic level and resources endowment makes Sino-Japan economy full of supplement, which makes bilateral trade attractive after the establishment of formal diplomatic relation: bilateral trade volume goes up, China and Japan become important trade partner of each other; investment moves upward gradually; trade patterns change from vertical division of labor to mixing division of labor; the economic assist that Japan provides promoted the development of China economy at different level; the personnel come and go frequently. Now, two countries economy becomes more interdependent than ever before.The main issues of Sino-Japan economic and trade cooperation are detailed in the second section. By and large, the main issues of Sino-Japan economic and trade cooperation include: the Sino-Japan trade disequilibrium, China has been in trade deficit for many years; Japan is reluctant to export advanced technology to China, which hinders China's development; more and more trade frictions appear and show the tendency to extending to wider scope; Japanese investment is not satisfactory; Japan interfered China's inner affairs by economic assist. Generally speaking, China and Japan are facing unprecedented opportunities: peace and development-the topic of times does not change, world war won't break out in the foreseeable future; They are both. facing the important subject of reform and develop, thirsting for peaceful environment; East Asia regional cooperation demands China and Japan to cooperate more closely; In Japan, "China opportunity" takes the place of "China threat" gradually.
