Knowledge economy is a kind of social configuration of knowledge society. Knowledge society takes knowledge as its main resources for development and the workers engaged in knowledge management (KM) as its dominant. KM will inevitably become a crucial sector in the future competitions. Enterprises have two tasks to complete in the process of carrying out KM: First, a complete KM system should be established for the enterprises to apply the knowledge assets efficiently; Second, making full use of human resources (HR) with the aim of increasing their ability to adapt new environment, to gain advanced knowledge, and to update their technology. As a result, a nation will make progress and achieve prosperity through this process. This article will focus on the second task to make an explanation of theory and practice of HR management based on KM.The world has changed a lot with the feature of influence of knowledge economy on our living and work forms and "People" becomes the core factor in the development of modern society. It's a great challenge as well as a good opportunity for China to accept this concept and learn the advanced theories and experiences from other countries. At the meanwhile, we should take an active part in researching a set of HR management form based on KM with specific Chinese characteristics.This article adopts the method of combination of document reading and example study. The main contents include:First, KM makes a higher requirement to HR management for meeting the needs of knowledge workers and the rapid development of IT.Second, giving a detail explanation on HR management based on KM with the factors of employees'enrollment, training, and encourage system, the establishment of Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO), study unit, proj ect group, and company culture based on KM.Finally, introducing the methods of HR management based on KM carried out in Shile, Mcdonald's, Toyota, Lenovo, IBM and Motorola co.
