Western Regional Tourism Economic Effects And Suggestions

The western part of China boasts unique, colorful and mysterious tourist resources that have aroused people's broad attention because of their extensive distribution, considerable quantity and distinguished quality. As an industry of forerunner and conjunction for the economic development and external opening, the tourist industry plays a significant role in the bouncing development of the West of China. This article adopted abundant statistical data together with practical examples to analyze the economic effects of developing tourism industry in the West, and put forward counter-measures and suggestions for speeding the development of tourism industry in the West. The whole article comprises five parts from basic concepts, theories, and analysis of economic effects to countermeasures and suggestions in the end.The fist part introduced at the beginning the concept of tourism industry from both broad and narrow senses, described the actuality of China's tourism development and made a forecast for the prospect of China's tourism industry to indicate that tourism is for sure a rising industry with broad future.Part Two introduced the concept and scope of the West of China, the conditions and features of tourist resources, and the results of tourism development. This part also explained that as the cornucopia of tourism resources in China even in the world, the West area has developed quickly these years due to the support of governments at each level, but the developing level is still low and there are great differences in development within the area.Part Three is the academic base for the whole article. It illustrated the type and content of economic effects brought about by tourism industry, and the evaluating methods of tourist economic effects. It emphasized in theory the contents of positive and negative economic effects brought about by tourism industry.The fourth part analyzed in detail the economic effects brought about by the tourism industry of the West area. This part enumerated a great deal of instances and data, and analyzed the importance of developing tourism industry in the West in terms of the effect of supporting the poor, the effect of earning foreign currency, the effect of obtaining employment, optimizing the industrial structure, and bringing along related industries etc.Part Five put forward countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the development of tourism industry in nine aspects aimed at the current condition and problems of the tourism industry in the West.The innovative point of this article is that it analyzed comprehensively the economic effects of tourism industry (positive economic effects and negative economic effects), and proposed practical measures and suggestions for the development of tourism industry in the West.
