This true case describes a stage of strategic development experienced by ZH Tianjin, that is with the changes of outside economic circumstance, in order to strengthen the core competitiveness of the corporation, the staff of Plastic Department, ZH Tianjin, faces choices and systematic reflection, which is how they explore the new business field or market and how they can occupy this new market smoothly, during the process of strategic development. In the following, the process of this reflection is stated in details.Starting from the description of the present status of ZH Tianjin, the former part of this article analyzes the challenge faced by the operational business model of traditional trade line in the changing circumstance of market, and states how to choose the new business field and market, which is we do deep analyses of plastic industry and the potential market of the plastic products firstly, and basing on the certain direction of business exploration, we choose the plastic material product- PE (poly-ethylene) resin -as the new business field, and explore the market of the whole country from the beginning of Shandong Province. In the later part, the structure of plastic market in Shandong has been analyzed at first, which macroscopic and microscopic analysis of Shandong market, the research of the customs' action, the analysis of competitive circumstance, the analysis of advantages and disadvantages and so forth are included.
