Abstract/Summary:
With the globalization and integration of world economy, international competition faces every company. As one of the backbone of Chinese economy, household appliance industry has been breaking the boundary and starting global business operation. In this case, how to expand towards the world market becomes the main focus.The ultimate objective of Chinese Household Appliance Manufacturer's international expansion is to strengthen the enterprise's core competence, so this is the basic consideration in selecting the international expansion path. In the beginning of this article, the author introduced the theories of multinational development and the methods of internationalization, analyzed the status of Chinese HAM and the motivation of internationalization. Based on different market mature level—developed market and developing market, the author discussed and analyzed the advantages and weaknesses of three main models of Chinese HAM's internationalization (OEM, overseas produce, multinational acquisition) with the illumination of foreign HAM's multinational operation models. Based on all of those studies, the author advanced the opinion: the chosen path should match the company's facts and needs, i.e. the international expansion path should be differentiated.The selecting should not just stay on the model level, but also the material matter of model handling. Whatever mature degree the market faced, whatever path the firm selected, the ultimate objective of Chinese HAM is to intensify the core competence, strengthen the holistic force of the company.
