Tooling Life-cycle Management System Integrated Environment Research

Information system plays an important role in the informanization of tools management for air-craft manufacturing companies. An effective MIS could realize the transmission and sharing of information effectively during the whole life of tools which will raise the efficiency of tools management, guarantee the quality of tools designing and manufacturing and make tools delivery on time.The paper was based on the XAC-TMIS developing project. Firstly, the problems needed to be solved during the tools management in the company were analyzed. Then from the life cycle information management of tools, combined with the demands and characteristics of tools management system under CIMS environment, the management system structure for the tools life cycle management and the Intranet-based users-system access model were presented. Secondly, through defining tools management system users and grouping the tools information, the process of tools management from the evolution of tools life cycle was analyzed. Then the users and information involved in each life period were analyzed which was the base of further study. Through analyzing the concrete tools management process of the XAC Company using work flow diagram and data flow diagram, the tools management system model was presented through the IDEFO modeling process. Then the system function modules of XAC-TMIS were given through system outline designing and detail designing. Finally, the executive environment of the system was described and several critical problems were discussed in the paper.
