Northwest Materials Life Cycle Assessment Study

Material industry is not only the material basis of the human civilization, but also one of the main courses of environmental pollution. With the deepening of "sustainable development" thought, the problems of material industry and environment are paid closely attention each other that how to develop harmoniously day by day. Such characteristics as relatively fragile ecology, abundant mineral resource, dry climate of the Northwest form particularities between material industry and environment are concerned again. So, the harmony environmental material in North-western Area is served as the research object. Then the reason of combined the regional characteristics is emphasized. Therefore, using life cycle method this text assesses the harmony environmental problems of material industry. All above of these are expected to bring someone's attention and make for the subsequence research.As one of the research contents of the Fund Project of National Natural Science (No.70371049), the text has analyzed the Eco-material generation and development trend, at the same times, revealed its inherent development rules and basic problems existing that based on current situation of domestic and internationally research about Eco-material. LCA is redefined and deepened the breakthrough point of the research from a comparatively mixed and disorder situation, and compared and analyzed the LCA and "derive" tool-MLCA and PLCA from appraisal target and range, etc also. And then based on combining a lot of similar concepts, refined out the intension on MLCA. On this basis, combined characteristics of current ecological environment and material industry of the Northwest, has emphatically probed into the necessity and advantages to develop Eco-material in the Northwest. Finally, combined MLCA, a concrete case analysis is given that taking the cement of the building materials industry as an example.The research of this text validates that the development trend of environmental pollution control is using the headstream prevention technology replacing the terminal treatment technology. Despite that the present research of Eco-material is mainly confined to such respects as environmental purification technology, reducing "three wastes" technology and substituting materials, etc., the question of environmental protection and security has become the key aspect of choosing and using the material. A conclusion, which can be drawn from the research of this text, is that to take theway to sustainable development in the Northwest Area, several measurements, which are refreshing traditional thought pattern, energetically developing environment material and developing harmony environment products are requested. At the same time, this is not only the essential measurements that obtaining and keeping enterprise's competition advantage, winning the market, but the important basis that the compound system of nature, economy and society is developing in a sustainable, stabilizing, healthy, harmonious way.
