| Relocation of poverty alleviation is one of the most important policies of “Five Ways of Alleviating Poverty” for targeted poverty alleviation.It is not only a policy but also a basic livelihood project.Resettlement building of the Plain Blue Banner,as the first pilot of the Plain Blue Banner to implement the policy of relocation of poverty alleviation,has deeply changed the life of local herders in the past decade.Anthropology attempts to see the whole world from a grain of sand.Material culture is an important part of anthropological research,and food,clothing and housing which are related to people's livelihood are an integral part of people's daily habits.The study on changes of daily material culture which reflects the changes in herders' life can reveal the transitions in herders' real life and make the thesis more convincing.Based on field research,this study adopts several research methods including questionnaires,interviews,etc.Theories of environmental determinism,adaptation theory,cultural transition,and cultural determinism,etc.are employed to analyze the changes in the lifestyle of the herders living in the resettlement building of the Plain Blue Banner.This thesis is composed of five parts.The introductory part mainly introduces the origin of the fieldwork and the significance of this study,an overview of domestic and foreign research,research methods,definition of related concepts,and a brief introduction to the geographical environment and customs of the Plain Blue Banner.Chapter one mainly describes the herders' life from three aspects of clothing,food,and housing,and summarizes the characteristics.Some historical information is also included to explain their traditional lifestyle.Chapter two mainly uses abundant interviews and questionnaire results to describe the local herders' life after relocation to urban areas.Some of these changes are rather subtle,while others are quite obvious,all of which highlight the huge impact of urbanized life on them,both in time and in the spatial structure.Chapter three summarizes the characteristics of herders' lifestyle before and after moving into resettlement building of the Plain Blue Banner.These characteristics are highly related to local conditions,and thus they are unique and regional.Meanwhile,they are also a microcosm of changing life in pastoral areas.In the last chapter,the main points of the thesis are concluded.On the one hand,cultural transition is not simply material but also spiritual,which is shown in a sense of belonging that it brought to the herders.The change of time and space has deconstructed the herders' traditional life.The transition of material culture cannot be used only as an objective indicator,and more importantly it shall give the herders a sense of belonging to the town and happiness.Only in this way can relocation of poverty alleviation be fullyimplemented and people's happiness be guaranteed.On the other hand,the comparison between life in pastoral areas and urbanized life shows that more attention should be paid to the protection and integrity of traditional culture.Cultural transition is not only a topic of culture,but also tangible content which is closely connected with the disappearance and the development of some cultures.Thus,it is essential to pay special attention to their spiritual and cultural environment. |
