Migrant Workers Medical Data Analysis System Based On Data Warehouse

Migrant workers group plays a very important role in the industrialization andurbanization in our country. However, the medical care problem of migrant workershas always been a big problem because of the specific characteristics of migrantworkers, who has a relative stronger need of medical care but cannot enjoy an equaltreatment comparing to the non-migrant citizens. One of the key reasons causing thissituation is that the medical care policies and systems in our country are built at locallevel and do not share a common platform, which brings difficulties to both migrantworkers and government managers, and causes lots of information lost as well. Thispaper is based on the consideration that if a union platform is built to enhance thecommunication and information share between relevant systems, a massive amount ofinformation can be utilized to discover useful knowledge. Therefore, a system that cangather sort of information from the existing medical systems and can processcomplicated data analysis will be a good support for government decision making,sanitary control, disease prevention, and so on, and finally will benefit the migrantworkers with a better medical service provided.Based on the requirement of the data analysis on big data, this paper presents adata warehouse solution to the migrant workers health information system, includingthe design and implementation of data warehouse and OLAP. An overall architectureof the system is presented first, and then a detailed demand analysis is stated as thesubject field for data warehouse. Then a universal multi-dimensional model is built asthe logical data model of both data warehouse and OLAP, with several keytechnologies explained and given. A series of OLAP operations is well defined aswell. Finally the implementation process of data warehouse and OLAP is providedbased on the SQL Server2008platform. The model presented in this paper is apracticable solution and guide for the building of a full-functional analysis systemopening to medical and health information, in the near future.
