On The Basic Areas Of Strategy Development

The science of development strategy is an interdisciplinary comprehensive subject, which springs up after the 1950s and generally studies the basic laws of overall and long-term development planning of the human society in every field. From over 50 years ago, the study of the science of development strategy has been extensively executed across the world, making huge influence on the present society development. The process of economy and society growth in China is closely connected with the science of development strategy. For more than 20 years, science of development strategy has been arising rapidly and keeping on growing. However, up to now, the science of development strategy is still a new sprout, the subject building of which is still in the newly established stage, not mature yet The research on the basic categories and the intrinsic connections of the science of development strategy will help make up the logical system and the primary framework of the science and help the basic construction of the science.The innovations in this paper are embodied in the aspects as follows. Firstly, the basic categories of the science of development strategy is divided into the basic categories and the basic element categories, the connotations and evolvements of which are analyzed systematically to eliminate some blurry and even improper cognitions of people when using the categories and to provide a theoretical framework for the further research on the science of development strategy. Thus, we can get a summary understanding of the science of development strategy. Secondly, when analyzing on the basic elements of the science of development strategy, in combination with several research perspectives, the basic elements of the development strategy are divided into nine aspects such as the strategic main body, the strategic environment, the strategic object, the strategic thought, the strategic objective, the strategic measure, the strategic emphasis, the strategic step and the strategic deployment. The factors and the internal structural elements that shall be considered inmaking a development strategy are analyzed as a whole so as to display a basic framework of the science of development strategy fairly completely, which is rare in the similar works and papers. Then, the relations between the basic elements of the development strategy are discussed in-depth. Some new conclusions are made. For example, the strategic thought is the soul of the development strategy; the strategic objective is the core of the development strategy; the selection of the strategic emphases and the strategic measures is the key of the development strategy. At the same time, the logic relations between the elements are analyzed quite deeply, addressing the statuses and functions of the categories in the development strategy.In this paper, also analyzed is the current status of the research on the science of development strategy, including the emerging of the science of development strategy, the research on the science of development strategy in China, the achieved progress and the existing problems of the research on the science of development strategy. Thus, we can obtain a general understanding of the science of development strategy. The last part of this paper discusses the nature of the subject, the basic characteristics and the research techniques of the science of development strategy. Although the analyses and discussions are preliminary, they will be of reference for us to carry on further study and research on the science of development strategy.
