Ningxia Energy Use And Sustainable Development

The strategic core of the great development of the western China is "development". It must involve large-scale activities of human being, major engineering construction, and large-scale development and utilization of energy sources and resources. Energy source is one of the superiorities of Ningxia. Energy source industry has possessed a good foundation. Hence, it is very important to probe the problems of rational utilization of energy sources and environmental protection in the development of Ningxia. The incorrect actions in resources and environment caused by the utilization of energy sources in the past have become knotty problems at present. We have never paid a good deal of attention to the problem of sustainable development of my selves and descendants. The great western China development must not take the old road, that is, the road of excessive development of energy sources. The fundamental requirements for industrialization must be low energy consumption and low environmental pollution. A road of sustainable development integrating the economic, ecologic and social benefits, maintaining ecologic equilibrium and producing energy sources for generations must be taken. The study in this article combines the systematic, quantitative and qualitative analysis. The stress is the evaluation of the projects of energy source utilization from the point of view of resources, establishment of input/output model and factor analysis model of energy source consumption intensity and application of the theory of technical and economic evaluation of measures for saving energy to the analysis of sustainable development of energy source utilization in Ningxia.The article has six chapters:Chapter 1 Introduction Brief account of the background, purpose and significance of study, the theory and method adopted for study and objective and content of study are given.Chapter 2 Fundamental status of the energy sources of Ningxia. The usable coal, petroleum,natural gas, electricity, and hydraulic, solar and wind energy are accounted briefly.Chapter 3 The economic development and energy source consumption. The main characteristics of the superiority of Ningxia's energy sources. The important role of energy sources in Ningxia's economy is explained with data. The role of energy sources in the future economy of Ningxia is explained in the light of the economic development of Ningxia.Chapter 4 Analysis of the problems existed in the energy utilization in the past in Ningxia. Analysis of the cause.Chapter 5 Through the evaluation of energy source utilization projects from the point of view of resources to establish the input/output model and factor analysis model for energy source consumption intensity so as to utilize the energy sources effectively.Chapter 6 Analysis of the countermeasures of the road for the sustainable development of Ningxia's energy source.
